I'm Tim Veil, a software engineer and CIO at Two Bear Capital, where I lead engineering on the data, analytics, and AI tooling the firm and its portfolio companies use every day. Before this I worked at StarTree on Apache Pinot and real-time analytics, scaled the sales-engineering organization at Cockroach Labs around CockroachDB, and partnered with Fortune 500 customers at Hortonworks across the Hadoop ecosystem.
This site collects open-source projects, blog posts, and notes from work spanning database internals, distributed systems, build pipelines, and AI tooling. Most recent work involves Java, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Apache Pinot, Apache Kafka, plus a steady amount of Python and Swift on the side. The terminal-styled UI here is a small joke — and a small homage to the tools I actually use every day.
